Membership facts and figures

Membership Secretary Report
The attraction of the Society to local residents is still very buoyant. Membership is at capacity and there is a waiting list of 34 people and this is growing monthly.
There are still a few members who have not yet paid their subscriptions for 2010 but they are in the minority, and I would like to thank the members who in most cases have paid promptly and on time, which helps me in my returns to Head Office.

More and more members are giving me their email addresses and the cooperation of members is much appreciated. Please remember however to notify me when you change your Email address; as ‘non deliverable’ Emails delay our communications to you. More and more information will be issued in this format.

Members can bring a guest to our meetings if they contact Jenny Dennison or any other committee member. Preference is given to people on the waiting list. There is a charge of £5 for guests on the waiting lither visst and oitors. Guests and visitors are restricted to a maximum of 4 lectures a year.

If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a particular meeting we will be able to offer your seat to a guest or visitor if you let Jenny Dennison or a committee member know a few days in advance.

From the Treasurer

We have built up the reserves to the level recommended by NADFAS.

The capitation fee for 2010 required by NADFAS has been increased from £10.50 to £10.90 per member and as a result we have raised the subscription to £35.00. Payment is required well before the start of the year, as we have to pay NADFAS their fees before the end of the current year, and the hall hire has to be paid in advance. We also have a number of capital expenses to be paid during 2010.
