Introduction

We are part of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies which has over 330 Societies and over 90,000 individual members in the UK and overseas. Our aims are to promote and advance the aesthetic education of the public, the cultivation, appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts, and the giving of aid to the preservation of our national artistic heritage for the benefit of the public.

We meet in the Old Barn Hall on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Refreshments are served from 6.45 pm with the meeting starting at 7.30 pm and usually lasting about 75 minutes. Talks on a wide range of subjects are given by expert lecturers recommended by the National Association.

There has been a consistent new membership waiting list of 10 to 20 since the society was founded and in the Spring of 2010 the committee increased the membership from 240 to 250. In addition five visitors can be accommodated and preference is given to those on the waiting list.

The logotype — A competition was held amongst members for a suitable logo, and the winning design selected by the committee was inspired by the 'A' frame beams of the Old Barn Hall submitted by Jeff Money.
